Is it the culture that makes the people…. or the other way around? In the case of our dear ol’ Gurgaon, it seems they’re both making the city revolve! That Gurgaon is the NCR nightlife hub, corporate hub, startup hub and culinary hub, isn’t news anymore! The surge of multinationals in the city is flabbergasting, to say the least. But deep down is the yearn for slowing down, for ease, for stagnancy…. for recreation! The one diversion that has recently hit the city culture (read all of the hubs I mentioned above), taking the company culture by hand to a changing scenario, are the Drinking games, as they are often called!
Combine the fun, spirit and competitiveness of a game with the ever enticing draw of booze. While hundreds of different drinking games are played at college parties ever year, only a handful are well-known. That said, one game possesses just enough excitement and competition to break free of the “drinking game” label and creep into the realm of sports.
You guessed it…. Beer Pong!
But what is it about this drinking game that sets it apart from the others? Beer pong requires skill, teamwork and the ability to stand after a plentiful amount of beer. But what is it about this darn game that is setting every corporate organisation in Gurgaon, on fire?
bond…. team bond!
Any drinking game that requires teamwork will strengthen the bonds between you and your friends, as it requires you to “mutually support” one another, which can encourage people to achieve goals they may not have realized they could reach on their own, like the goal of drinking a whole lot, or, you know, something super-productive.
Beer Pong… And ready to mingle!
Everyone feels happy when they socialize” (even introverts!), and there’s nothing more social than drinking with friends, colleagues and team mates… and what’s the cherry on the cake? Drinking… always makes the bonds grow….. fonder!
The long and short of it!
Plenty of drinking games, like quarters, beer pong, and flip cup, require a high level of hand-eye coordination. And those skills have uses outside of the party scene, as the better you get at it, the more you can increase your reaction times, as well as enhanced agility and athleticism. It could even improve your typing skills!…. It is true… and not a promotional gimmick!
Competition- do it!
Competition can benefit people greatly, as it challenges people to strive to be better. Hold on to your competitive spirit during flip cup on Friday night, and then unleash it at your workplace on Monday morning, and soon, you’ll be heading the department, you report at!
